The Susan Cowsill Band
with special guest Miss Major & Her Minor Mood Swings

Not many people were singing on hit singles and touring the world when their friends were still in kindergarten, but The Cowsills became a cherished part of '60s pop culture. As the role model for television's Partridge Family, and a fine act in their own right, they had three top-ten singles with "Hair," "The Rain, the Park and Other Things (Flower Girl),"and "We Can Fly." Soon after those successes, Susan went into her first retirement at the tender age of 12. Though she's been singing for most of her life, Susan Cowsill has never gone solo before - unless you count a couple of early '70s singles that you'd have to hire a detective to find. Now, after her famed childhood with the Cowsills, her ten years with the Continental Drifters and too many guest appearances to list, Susan has finally recorded her first solo album, entitled Just Believe It

Cyril Neville
(Soul / Reggae / Roots Music )
with special guest Robin Rogers (Blues)
Cyril Neville maybe the last great voice of New Orleans music.
One of the four Neville Brothers, Cyril Neville was the youngest, born on January 10, 1948, in New Orleans, LA. Cyril picked up his love of music from his parents and his older brothers at an early age, but it wasn't until 1967 (at the age of 19) that Cyril began singing professionally, as he united with brothers Art and Aaron in the outfit Art Neville and the Neville Sounds, playing the New Orleans club circuit on a regular basis. Cyril and Aaron eventually left the group, forming another outfit, Soul Machine,
Music has been Robin Rogers' consuming passion ever since her days as a teenaged street singer. Possessing a deeplyexpressive and soulful voice and an infectious enthusiasm for the blues, Robin and her band have developed a devoted and growing following. Her Blind Pig debut, Treat Me Right, fulfills the promise of her previous two releases, revealing an accomplished artist of rare polish and originality.

Friday 7/17
JIM SUHLER & Monkey Beat
with special guest Shannon & the Rhythm Kings

Jim Suhler made a name for himself in the State of Texas as one of a number of fine young Texas guitar slingers coming out of the Dallas area. In recent times, Suhler has stepped into the national spotlight as the second guitarist for George Thorogood and the Destroyers. On Friday night, Jim Suhler brought his own band, Monkeybeat, out to Famous Daves, performing in more of the Texas style that Suhler developed as a Texas regional star. Following an opening instrumental that showcased Suhlers guitar talents and featured a clearly Texas, guitar-based style, the band broke into a fine version of "Black Cat Bone", including Suhler's fine guitar and vocals, along with an excellent keyboard solo by Sean Phares, a fine player who has worked with another Texas guitar notable, Andrew "Jr. Boy" Jones.

Aunt Kizzy'z Boyz
(Blues)
The bands most valuable ingredient is that the band's dynamic frontman Sugaray knows how to read and work a room. While most artists simply perform, exceptional artists are responsive to the mood of the crowd. The energy shifted when AKB took the stage, and the band had the crowd on its feet within seconds. One judge stated it was a pleasant surprise to see a blues band of "old guys" beat the pants off five other contemporary urban, R&B and hip hop acts. Without batting an eye Sugaray responded "Blues is the original urban.". As a direct result of winning the LAMN Jam preliminary round in June, AKB signed a deal with RBC Records. RBC Records partner Brian Shafton, a talent judge who signed the band on the spot when he first heard them two months ago,
