Frank on ..... Walter Trout

What a guy!

Walter is one of the most straightforward guys you would ever want to meet. After all the remodeling we have been doing, the a/c in the Green Room (our dressing room) was not working as good as it should. I went in to apologize to Walter about the a/c being on the fritz. Walter grinned real big and replied, "To hell with the a/c! This is the best damn Italian sausage I ever had!"

After the show we sat and talked. He said over and over again, "Now this is a gig! We had more fun here tonight than we've had anytime on this tour. This is the only time I have done 3 songs for an encore. I could have kept playing all night, but the tour manager Paul kept showing me his watch saying, 'We need to go so we can get some rest.'."

Walter is a funny man with a great sense of humor.

Knuckleheads loves Walter. Every time he comes, we like him more .

Playing this week..... 6/19 - 6/24
Johnny Winter, Chris Jones,
The Rumblejetts, Cotton Candy,
Hilary Scott, Honey Boy Edwards, and MORE

This week is HUGE at Knuckleheads!

Johnny Winter
For over 30 years, Johnny Winter has been a guitar hero without equal. Signing to Columbia records in 1969, Johnny immediately laid out the blueprint for his fresh take on classic blues a prime combination for the legions of fans just discovering the blues via the likes of Jimmy Page and Eric Clapton. Constantly shifting between simple country blues in the vein of Robert Johnson, to all-out electric slide guitar blues-rock, - Johnny has always been one of the most respected singers and guitar players in rock and the clear link between British blues-rock and American Southern rock a la the Allman Brothers and Lynyrd Skynyrd. This show is SOLD OUT, so I hope you're one of the lucky ones who will get to experience it!

Chris Jones
Chris Jones is one of the best young musicians in bluegrass today. His powerful, original approach to traditional bluegrass, his uncompromising professionalism and his wonderful sense of humor all combine to build a strong bond with audiences worldwide. Chris' rich voice is rooted firmly in the Stanley bluegrass tradition, but with a warm, resonant country flavor, something Bluegrass Now magazine has called the "low lonesome sound". Chris' strong rhythm and masterful lead guitar work is influenced by George Shuffler, Larry Sparks, Tony Rice and Ron Block. Chris is also considered one of bluegrass' premier songwriters. The Rumblejetts open this show at 7:30PM, and Chris will be onstage at 9!

The Bel Airs
Fronted by brothers Dick and Dave Pruitt on bass and electric guitars, with Michael Cherry on drums, the Bel Airs play a danceable mix with an authentic but eclectic bluesy-country-soul-and-rock-n-roll sound influenced by the likes of Wilson Picket, Slim Harpo, Howlin' Wolf and Johnny Cash. Performing together for more than 20 years, the Pruitt brothers' harmony vocal style sets them apart in the contemporary music scene--leading one reviewer to refer to them as the "Everly Brothers of Blues". David's "big guitar" and Dick's howling vocals over soulful, right-on rhythm playing make this trio a powerhouse. The show starts at 9PM with this, the best dance band in town!

Hilary Scott
Said by some to exude the perfect mixture of the erotic and the innocent in her musical performances, Hilary Scott strives to give her listeners a new musical experience. Difficult to categorize, the music she writes blends blues, folk, rock and classical influences into a pleasurable enigma. Hilary Scott began playing music at the age of two when she first crawled onto a piano bench. Her musical influences and inspirations are varied, which leads many to attempt comparisons to artists that inhabit the entire galaxy of genres, ages, and genders. And yet, her sound is grabbing listeners of all ages...there seems to be something here for everyone. The perfect music for a Kansas City summer's evening. Show starts at 8PM.

Honey Boy Edwards
Honeyboy's life has been intertwined with almost every major blues legend, including Robert Johnson, Charlie Patton, Big Joe Williams, Rice "Sonny Boy Williamson" Miller, Howlin' Wolf, Peetie Wheatstraw, Sunnyland Slim, Lightnin' Hopkins, Big Walter, Little Walter, Magic Sam, Muddy Waters, and ... well, let's just say the list goes on darn near forever! This will be a rare treat, a special acoustic show just for Knuckleheads! Show starts at 11:30PM.

WOW! What a week, with living legends at both ends, and GREAT shows in the middle! Be sure to come get your fill at Knuckleheads Saloon!
