Charlie Musselwhite, TUF, DeWayn Brothers, Jim Kilroy's Elvis Bash, Bernard Allison, Jason Isbell, Justin Earle, & MORE @ Knuckleheads 4/6 - 4/12/ 09

Wednesday 4/8
Charlie Musselwhite (Blues)
It's Charlie's mix of wild country abandon seasoned by years of playing
urban electric blues in Chicago that spurs the likes of Ben Harper, Tom Waits and Gov't Mule to welcome Musselwhite onto their stages and records. That same brash, blues/rock rebel vibe was Dan Aykroyd's inspiration for his Elwood Blues persona, and it's what has won Musselwhite a pile of blues awards and earned the admiration and respect of his own heroes: Howlin' Wolf, John Lee Hooker and Muddy Waters. John Lee was even the best man at Charlie's wedding.

Thursday 4/9
Trampled Under Foot (Blues)
TUF
When was the last time you saw a three piece family blues band with two left handed guitarists? Let alone a blues band with strong vocals both female and male? Trampled Under Foot, winners of the 2008 International Blues Challenge, is like no other blues band you will ever see or hear. Danielle is an amazing blues singer and an excellent bassist. Kris fires right in the pocket on the drums and sings as well. Nick is a strong singer and an accomplished guitarist, winning the 2008 Albert King Award from the IBC.

Thursday 4/9
The DeWayn Brothers (Bluegrass)
The DeWayn Brothers are a fast paced insurgent bluegrass band drawing influences from old timey bluegrassers, to punk rock and metal, their shows are high energy from start to finish. With the best female vocalist in the midwest, Jamie Lee belts out songs of lost loves and bad guys, to the incredible songwriting of Eric "The Boy" Nelson singing about death and drinking, or just picking a good ol' banjo song about gettin rabies from your own dog, DeWayn is pushing their Kansgrass sound all over the country. With Josh Finley possibly one of the fastest mando players in the country and an incredible artist added to the mix you would think he was an 80's
shredder not a bluegrass mandolin player. DeWayn is quickly headed to the forfront of the insurgent bluegrass scene.
