Friday 9/1 Duke Robillard
Here’s a quick quiz:
What do Bob Dylan, Jay McShann, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, John Hammond, the late Jimmy Witherspoon, Dr. John, Maria Muldaur, Roomful of Blues, and the Canadian band The Rockin’ Highliners all have in common?

Answer: Duke Robillard.

Guitarist. Bandleader. Songwriter. Singer. Producer. Session musician. And a one-man cheering section for the blues, in all its forms and permutations. And every one of those names has shared recording studio space or stage time with a man who is a legend in the blues community.

The W.C. Handy Awards have named Robillard "Best Blues Guitarist" two years in a row (2000 and 2001), B.B. King says Duke’s "one of the great players," and the Houston Post called him "one of God’s guitarists." And the New York Times says Robillard is "a soloist of stunning force and originality."
Come hear some of the hottest blues in town, starting at 7pm.

Then comes:
The Colbolt Project Reunion at 10pm A $6 cover gets you into hear The Cobolt Project, $12 for the Duke, or FOR BOTH SHOWS.

Sat 9/2 Scott Kay & the Continentals
The music conjures up the sights and sounds of smoke-filled honky tonks, 50's diners, Texas ice houses, and Memphis barbecue joints. It is very common to see swing dancers, greasers, country two-steppers, honky tonkers, club kids, and old-time rock-n-rollers boppin' to the same beat. Scott Kay and the Continentals has been honored with a 2006 St. Louis Music Award for "Best Americana Band." The band has also been featured on the Greasers Lunchbox radio show in St. Louis, the Rockabilly Moodswing radio show in Kansas City, and has shared the stage with several touring acts including the Blasters, Big Sandy and his Fly-Rite Boys, and the legendary Wanda Jackson.

Scott Kay and the Continentals will dominate the stage, starting at 9pm.

There you go! It's going to be a really eclectic week at Knuckleheads Saloon, Kansas City's BEST blues bar and honky tonk!
See ya there!
