This week at Knuckleheads....
The Georgia Satellites,
The Von Hodads,
David Allen Coe,
Roomful of Blues,
and Four Fried Chickens..

It's hotter than blazes in Kansas City! The fire hydrants are CALLING the dogs, hoping to get cooled off just a bit! Do you wonder if it might have anything to do with the white hot music coming up from Knuckleheads Saloon this week?

The Georgia Satellites

Tucked in among the glam metal acts that saturated MTV in 1986, roots rockers The Georgia Satellites reminded us to "Keep Your Hands To Yourself." The hit single from their self-titled debut album rocked as hard as any of its neighbors in high rotation, while paying tribute to its roots at the same time. Their later albums, the best of which is collected on their CD "Let It Rock", kept the flame burning for good time rock & roll with a distinctly southern drawl.
The Tuesday night show starts at 8:30PM!

The Von Hodads
The Pitch calls this band "a saucy surf-rock juggernaut with a soft spot for standards...". Don't wipe out! Come on down for this NO COVER show! The music starts at 7:30PM

David Allen Coe
If there's ever been a way to describe David Allen Coe, it has got to be his ability to defy categorization. With nearly three decades of following his musical muse wherever it's led, this outlaw has crossed the panorama of American roots music. Much has been written about David's past and his lifestyle but not much about his achievements over the years. From performing on FARM AID to touring with NEIL YOUNG, KID ROCK and WILLIE NELSON. David's song "Take This Job and Shove It" has received a Million Airplays Certificate from BMI. His "Greatest Hits Album" is PLATINUM and his "First Ten Years Album" is GOLD.
David Allen Coe takes the stage at 8:30PM this Thursday night. Don't miss this one!

Roomful of Blues
From the Santa Barbara News-Press, JUNE 6, 2006, by Josef Woodard:
A blue ribbon blues band
The eight-piece Rhode Island based band's tight, rocking and generous show also made for an interesting analogous connection with the hosting Blues Society. Just as the SBBS has taken care to present the genuine pioneers and veteran blues players, and thus help preserve the blues tradition, Roomful is an American treasure, which partly sees its mission as torch-keepers of a proud musical culture. They dish out a good time, while delivering object lessons in musical culture,

Saturday's show was a typical in that the band took care to take us on a blues tour of America, stopping at different styles and substyles under the blues rubric without ever getting didactic about it. They played Chicago blues, Kansas City style, and the music of T-Bone Walker and Junior Parker. Their ace horn section also was afforded plenty of room to shine, on ump blues workouts and instrumentals such as "Lester Leaps In," in a version more saloonish than jazz clubby.

Four Fried Chickens & a Coke

For almost a decade, Four Fried Chickesn and a Coke have been leaving Kansas City audiences hot, breathless, sweaty, and begging for more.

If you've seen "The Blues Brothers" with Dan Akroyd and John Belushi, then you'll probably recall the movie scene from which the band derived their name. This group plays cuts from the Blues Brothers and the Commitments soundtracks, James Brown, Otis Redding, Ike and Tina Turner, Royal Crown Review, Chicago, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Stevie Wonder, Stevie Ray Vaughn, their own original songs, and many more.

You can order their latest album, "Poultry In Motion" from the Knuckleheads music store.

There you have it, another hot, hot, HOT lineup at Knuckleheads Saloon! Don't miss a minute of the great music you'll find ONLY here, at Kansas City's best blues bar and honky-tonk, Knuckleheads Saloon... YOUR kind of place!
