The Legendary Tennessee Three
the Legendary sounds behind Johnny Cash
It's not often that one gets the chance to hear the ghost of Johnny Cash channeled through the guitar of a living legend. Which is precisely why I jumped at the chance to see Bob Wootten play the Chambers Hotel; I never had the opportunity to see the Man in Black live, and Wootten provided fans with a strikingly familiar performance of Cash's best songs. From 1968 to 2005, Wootten played alongside Cash as his main guitarist, providing the signature "boom-chick" sound that listener's associate with Cash's music. In addition to looking and acting like Cash, Wootten's smooth baritone voice was the perfect substitute for the late singer's, providing the small audience
with a unique chance to hear Cash's songs performed almost exactly the same way they would have sounded had he been there himself.

Friday 5/8
Terry Hanck (Blues)
with special guests winner of the 2009 IBC Blues band of the year
JP Soars & the Red Hots
Terry Hanck is the funkiest, sexiest, most prolific and talented singer/songwriter/musician on the earth. He has to be Jr. Walker's bastard child.
"Thank you for your support, your love, and your very nice comments
about JP Soars & the Red Hots' recent victory at the IBC in Memphis
on Feb. 7th, 2009. We are honored and humbled to have won this
very prestigous competition amongst such fine fellow musicians.
We look forward to performing at Blues and Music Festivals
across the country and feel blessed to have such an opportunity.
Most sincerely,
John Paul Soars"

Friday 5/8
Cowboy Mouth (New Orleans Rock)
The term 'Cowboy Mouth' has been used in the poetry of Shakespeare and Bob Dylan as well as a play by Patti Smith and Sam Shepard. Usually meaning one with a loud and raucous voice, it describes the band well. With over 2000 concerts under their belt and many years of reviews lauding their live show, there is still one quote which best captures their show.....
"...on a bad night they'll tear the roof off the joint and on a good night,
they'll save your soul." ~Cake Magazine

Saturday 5/9
Ronnie Baker Brooks (Blues)
with special guest Albert Castiglia
"I grew up among the best of the best," Brooks says. "Every time I play,
I feel like I've got to do it with the authenticity and passion that I saw in
guys like Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, B.B. King and my father.
But I also have to put my twist on it. None of those guys
repeated what came before them."
Castiglia has a blues history. In 1990, he joined The Miami Blues Authority and
later on won "Best Blues Guitarist" from New Times magazine in 1997.
The legendary Junior Wells discovered Castiglia and immediately hired him as his own
guitarist/vocalist on several world tours. After Wells' passing, Castiglia toured with Atlanta blues singer Sandra Hall, then ventured out on a solo career and released his debut album in 2002
