This Week at Knuckleheads:
The Derailers, Brian Capps,
Marcia Ball with Jimbo Mathus,
and Mike Zito

We hope you had a bangup 4th of July! Happy Birthday America! The birthday celebration may be over, but the fireworks still continue at Knuckleheads!

The Derailers
In a career that has given rise to more than a decade’s worth of fine-tuned, highly anticipated and wonderfully received music, the Derailers continue to build the relationship between song, listener and dance floor. Each album has been a mix of well-crafted original songs and cover songs so thoughtfully chosen and so representative of the band, that fans think they are as original as the band themselves. Challenged by their fans to create a sound that mirrors the shuffle of happy boots on a hardwood floor, the Derailers have fed the hungry dancehall crowds with their classic country beats and a 60s pop sensibility. Fans continue to show their appreciation and admiration with requests for encores long after the last drink has been served.

The show starts off Wednesday night with your hometown favorites, The Rumblejetts at 7:30PM!

Brian Capps
Brian Capps began his musical career in 1993 when he co-founded The Domino Kings. During the next eight years he performed, wrote, and contributed his music to the band’s first two widely acclaimed CDs, Lonesome Highway (1999) and Life & 20 (2000), while developing his own distinctive voice and style. Capps has since embarked on his solo career. His recent release, Walk Through Walls (HighTone Records; produced by Lou Whitney), is receiving rave reviews.

Thursday night's show will start at 8pm. Don't miss this bled of traditional country and early rock and roll.

Jimbo Mathus
Guitarist, songwriter, vocalist and producer Jimbo Mathus first caught the public’s ear in the 1990’s with the hyper-ragtime vaudeville act, The Squirrel Nut Zippers. Since then, he’s released many recordings of his own in a style he describes as “Mississippi Music”.

“Basically, “ Mathus says, “I combine the myriad styles of deep roots music in a type of alchemy. Blues, country, gospel and soul all go into the equation equally.” His last outing called “Knockdown South”, was released on his own label and received much critical acclaim. It was voted number 2 for Best of 2005 by Honest Tune Magazine.

Jimbo will start Friday night's event at 7pm.

Marcia Ball
Singer/pianist Marcia Ball knows how to raise roofs and tear down walls with her infectious, intelligent and deeply emotional brand of southern boogie, rollicking, roadhouse blues and heartfelt ballads. Over the course of her three-decade career, Ball has earned a huge and intensely loyal following all over the world. Her exquisite piano playing and passionate, playful vocals fuse New Orleans and Gulf Coast R&B with Austin's deep songwriting tradition into a sound No Depression described as "a little rock, a lot of roll, a pinch of rhythm and a handful of blues."

Marcia will take the stage Friday night at 10pm.

Mike Zito
Mike Zito blends earthy singing and soulful guitar. Plugged in, proud, and built to be played loud, his music rolls and raves and keeps fans busy on the dance floor. ~music.download.com

Frank on ..... Johnny Winter

Well, if you where at the show last night you know. WOW! What a show!

Just getting to see Johnny perform was great. He still has it after all these years. He’s still a master blues player.

Johnny played to a sold out show. The crowd was great and Johnny stayed and signed autographs’ as long as he could, which was a fairly long while, till he started getting tired and needed some rest.

His health is better than it’s been in years. I went into his RV and met Johnny there. He’s a really nice guy
