Kelly Willard in the Gospel Lounge
Simple, honest, unpretentious, easy to listen to over and over..."
These are a few words that many people use when describing the music and voice of Kelly Willard. Although Kelly has lent her talents to the artistry of such well-known artists as Bob Bennett, Bruce Carroll, Dion DiMucci, Buddy Greene, Keith Green, Steve Green, Fernando Ortega, Twila Paris, Ricky Scaggs, Paul Overstreet, and inumerable Praise and Worship recordings over the years, she remains as simple,
approachable and 'down to earth' as a person can be.

JD Souther
A songwriting legend returns to KC after 25 years!
JD was Glenn Frey's roommate (the downstairs neighbor was Jackson Browne) and went on to write "New Kid In Town", "Heartache Tonight", "Best of My Love" and others for The Eagles. One of the principal architects of the Southern California country-rock sound, Souther famously played a key role in the formation of the Eagles as well as writing Linda Ronstadt's classics "Faithless Love","Simple Man, Simple Dream", and "Prisoner in Disguise".

You know J.D., even if you don't think you do. On top of a successful solo career, including the hit "You're Only Lonely" J.D. was an "unofficial Eagle" who wrote a ton of their greatest hits. He also penned some of Linda Ronstadt's best songs, was a member of Souther Hillman and Furay, a 70's group that featured former members of the Byrds and Poco, and he appeared regularly on the television show Thirtysomething.

Souther has just released his first new CD in 25 years, and is coming to Kansas City for the first time since he opened for the Eagles at Kemper Arena on the Hotel California tour.

In 1984, singer/songwriter J.D. Souther followed the chart-topping successes of "You're Only Lonely" and the James Taylor duet "Her Town Too". With HOME BY DAWN, an album that Rolling Stone declared his best, with songs that "rank right up there with his forlorn classics "Run like a Thief" and "Faithless Love". And then, in 1985, after a brief tour in support of the album, J.D. Souther disappeared. A highly sought-after songwriter and session man, Souther also released three critically acclaimed solo albums -- "John David Souther", (1972) "Black Rose",(1976), and "You?re Only Lonely" (1979) -- and two albums as a member of The Souther Hillman Furay Band, the supergroup which united Souther with Poco's Richie Furay and the Byrds' Chris Hillman.

But in 1985, after countless hit records, Grammy nominations, American Music
Awards, and gold and platinum albums, J.D. Souther decided to walk away from his solo career. According to Souther: "I just wanted to be a good songwriter. I wanted to just stay home and write."

Relocating to Nashville, Souther wrote for and with artists as diverse as
India.Arie, Brooks & Dunn, Jimmy Buffet, Glen Campbell, Joe Cocker, Crosby Stills & Nash, Diamond Rio, Dixie Chicks, Don Henley, One Flew South, Roy Orbison, Bernadette Peters, Bonnie Raitt, George Strait, Brian Wilson, Trisha Yearwood, Warren Zevon, and most recently the newly re-formed Eagles, who chose Souther's protest song "How Long" as the debut single from their first studio album in twenty-eight years.

IF THE WORLD WAS YOU is the long-awaited return of a master singer/songwriter
as well as the birth of a new and relevant artist who?s creating music that is absolutely essential and entirely his own. Twenty-five years in the making, J.D. Souther's triumphant return with IF THE WORLD WAS YOU has most definitely been worth the wait.

Friday 6/5
The Bellamy Brothers
"Let Your Love Flow", "Reggae Cowboys", "Sugar Daddy", "Redneck Girl", "Old Hippie", "If I Said You Had a Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me".... just some of their hits. Howard and David continue to prove that the trail they've ridden to fame has been as unique as their music itself music that is now celebrating 30 years of success. The road that started on the pop music charts in the 70's, took a winding turn into country music in the 80's, paving the way for duos to come, such as Brooks & Dunn, Montgomery Gentry, Big & Rich, and previously The Judds.
But before the road forked into country, the musical odyssey of brothers Bellamy
started creatively smoldering in their home state of Florida, before exploding nationally amidst the 70's pop music culture of L.A.

The Belairs (R & B / Blues)
Easily one of the hottest and most entertaining blues bands in the country, Fronted by brothers Dick and Dave Pruitt on bass and electric guitars, with Michael Cherry on drums, the Bel Airsplay a danceable mix with an authentic but eclectic bluesy-country-soul-and-rock-n-roll sound influenced by the likes of Wilson Picket, Slim Harpo, Howlin' Wolf and Johnny Cash. Performingtogether for more than 20 years, the Pruitt brothers' harmony vocal style sets them apart in the contemporary music scene--leading one reviewer to refer to them as the "Everly Brothers of Blues". David's "big guitar" and Dick's howling vocals oversoulful, right-on rhythm playing make this trio a powerhouse.
